What is Moringa?
Moringa oleifera is a plant that has been praised for its health benefits for thousands of years. It has been called by many names in different cultures including, the drumstick tree, the miracle tree, the ben oil tree, or the horseradish tree.
Moringa is very rich in healthy antioxidants and bioactive plant compounds. The leaves, pods, and seeds of the moringa tree are rich in antioxidants, amino acids, vitamins, and minerals. A complete protein, moringa leaf powder contains all nine essential amino acids the body needs.
Evidence has shown that moringa extract can be effective in reducing and controlling weight gain in mice. Its high vitamin B content helps with smooth and efficient digestion and can assist the body when converting food into energy, as opposed to storing it as fat.

Ways to Consume Moringa
1
Leaves
Leaves from the drumstick tree can be eaten as a salad green, or they can be cooked and prepared in many of the same ways you might prepare something like spinach. When processed to make tea, the leaves of the moringa tree are harvested and then dried under a light, low heat.
2
Powder
Moringa powder is made in a way similar to something like matcha. Moringa powder can be purchased in bulk, and you can use it as an additive for smoothies or shakes, as an ingredient in baking, and in a variety of other ways. About 6 spoonfuls of leaf powder can meet a woman's daily iron and calcium requirements, during pregnancy.
3
Seeds
Moringa seeds, once developed, can be dried and planted or eaten as is. The seeds have a higher concentration of nutrients, but they also have a higher concentration of the ingredients that cause laxative effects so it's best to limit your intake to 2-3 a day..
